Divorce

Going through a divorce is an emotional time, with little certainty, and a difficult time for former partners. If there are children involved, their well-being and safety is paramount during and after the divorce proceedings, so there is separate documentation and forms that require attention regarding children. Furthermore all assets that you and your partner own need to be split and if you want this to be legally binding there is a deadline on which an agreement needs to be made (ancillary relief). You will also need to state why you wish the marriage to be terminated, and then the further steps are a decree nisi and 6 weeks after that a decree absolute.

Please do note that up to and including the decree nisi you can cancel the divorce proceedings, however when a decree absolute is issued it is not a plausible option.

It is strongly advised you get the divorce proceedings sorted by a solicitor who can give you informed advice.

Please do not hesitate to contact DalSun Solicitors to make further arrangements, or have any queries regarding any stage of the divorce process
